Flexible Graphite Foil
Flexible graphite foil is an excellent sealing material for high temperature, high pressure transfer of liquids, gases, steam, chemicals, and corrosives. Available as graphite foil rolls, graphite sheets, graphite rings, and graphite discs.
Flexible graphite foil is manufactured from high purity, high crystalline natural graphite flakes, which are processed into continuous foil by a special acid and thermal treatment to produce expanded graphite crystals. The expanded graphite crystals are then formed into foil through an extensive calendaring process without any resins and binders.
- Excellent thermal stability and reflectivity.
- Resistant to low temperature of -200 °C.
- Resistant to high temperature of 450 °C in air, 700 °C in steam, and 3000 °C in inert or reducing environment.
- Chemically inert: Resistant to fluids with pH range of 0-14 (except strong oxidizers such as nitric or sulphuric acid).
- High purity: eliminates potential fluid contamination, an ideal material for nuclear applications.
- Low coefficient of friction: It is self-lubricating.
- Asbestos-free: no associated health hazards.
- Low electrical resistivity and high thermal conductivity.
- Flexible, compressible, and conformable in shape.
- Highly anisotropic: the electrical and thermal conductivity characteristics are very different in the direction parallel to and perpendicular to flakes.

Wide Selection Ranges
We offer a full line of graphite foil: homogeneous graphite foil rolls and flexible graphite sheets (width from 2" to 60"), as well as carbon graphite reinforced sheets with stainless steel or perforated stainless steel sheet inserted. Standard rolls are 39.4" x 100'. Nonstandard sizes and grades are also available on request.
